The China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone (FTZ) in the city's Pudong New Area is playing host to 133 oversea talents at a business exchange event for overseas talents from Nov 2 to 5.
The four-day event aims to attract top minds from overseas who harbor entrepreneurial dreams of starting their own business in Shanghai FTZ and serving the city's goal of becoming a global scientific and technological innovation center. It offers them a platform to present their innovative projects and exchange with others.
The 133 attendees from 14 countries and regions were chosen by a panel of experts from hundreds of applicants worldwide. They will display their projects and have face-to-face talks with investment institutions.
Hundreds of investment institutions including New Access Capital, Summitview Capital, Innovation Angel Funds, Wisdo Mont Asset Management, and Chenhui Venture Partners are participating in the event to look for innovative high-quality startup projects.
The overseas talents will also tour the FTZ's industrial parks and incubators to gain a better understanding of the area's business environment and preferential policies.
The event was launched by an offshore innovation and entrepreneurship base for overseas talents in the FTZ, which was inaugurated in August 2015 and wants to become a hub for overseas startups.
