The Animal Experimental Center of the Center for Cardiovascular Innovations opened in Jiangqiao town, Jiading district on Oct 9, aiming to promote the research and development of China's original medical devices.

Covering an area of 7,466.67 square meters, the center includes a 1,200-square-meter animal feeding area and a 1,100-square-meter animal experimental area.

The animal breeding area can accommodate pigs, dogs, rabbits, guinea pigs, and other experimental animals, while the animal experimental area can carry out intervention and surgery, comprehensive imaging examination, pre-test pathology examination, as well as biocompatibility testing of medical devices.

The center will be equipped with advanced imaging equipment, such as intravenous ultrasound, to meet the needs of conducting animal experiments covering cardiology, cardiac surgery, neurosurgery, and vascular surgery, as well as making supporting analysis.

A CCI Joint Lab for Cardiovascular Hemodynamics was also launched. It is expected that it will drive the development of precision medicine through big data and artificial intelligence technology.

CCI has been established for six years and has contributed to the promotion, innovation, and talent cultivation in the cardiovascular health sector.

The animal experimental center will help Jiading district build an innovative medical industry ecosystem, as well as boost its high-performance medical equipment and precision medical industry.
