( english.jiading.gov.cn ) 2020-11-20

A total of 31 key projects valued at nearly 16 billion yuan ($2.43 billion) were recently signed into effect and will be launched in the Shanghai Jiading Industrial Zone on Nov 16. They are expected to boost the district's smart sensor and intelligent internet of things (IoT) industries.

Jiading, which is home to the Shanghai Smart Sensor Industrial Park and the National Intelligent Sensor Innovation Center, is stepping up development of the integrated circuit (IC) industry by constructing a complete industrial chain.

Shen Huadi, deputy head of Jiading district, said that the smart sensor industry plays an important role in the national strategy, and the local government will offer full support to the district's smart sensor enterprises.

Shen added that the projects will promote the development of Jiading's smart sensor industry and further integrate the industrial chain and supply chain.

In recent years, Jiading district has been helping Shanghai implement the national strategy to develop the smart sensor industry. The district has recorded a whopping 26.7 percent average annual growth rate in its IC and intelligent IoT industries since 2015.

Over the past several years, the district has created an entire industrial chain including materials, design, manufacturing, closed beta testing, and application. A number of industry leaders focusing on the application of smart sensors have also emerged in the district, such as mCube, provider of the world's smallest MEMS motion sensors.
