The Shanghai government has approved the establishment of two intelligent manufacturing industrial parks in the city's Jiading district, according to a conference held in Fengxian district, Shanghai on June 16.
The conference, which focused on promoting the city's intelligent manufacturing industry, was attended by more than 100 government officials and enterprise representatives. A total of eight intelligent manufacturing industrial parks received government approval during the event, including two parks to be built in Jiading.

Occupying a planned area of 2.64 sq km, the Shanghai New Energy Vehicles and Key Spare Parts Industrial Base will focus on the research and development (R&D) of new energy and intelligent vehicles, and make breakthroughs in several key areas such as batteries, electrical machinery and electronic control devices, in order to complete its industrial ecosphere of new energy vehicles and intelligent manufacturing.
The base is currently home to more than 200 enterprises, including a number of innovative enterprises such as China's third-largest electric vehicle battery maker Gotion High-Tech Company.

The second industrial park, with a planned area of 2 sq km, is the Jiading Hydrogen Park. It will be a gathering place for hydrogen fuel cell vehicles and is expected to have an annual output value of 50 billion yuan ($7 billion) after it is put into operation. It aims to become a world-class hydrogen energy base with global influence.
It has attracted a number of leading enterprises, including the Horiba (China) Headquarters Base and Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing China, which will further speed up the high-quality development of the hydrogen energy industry, in an effort to make the park a hub for the country's hydrogen energy industry.
