Ten nurses from Jiading in Shanghai were honored with the title "Best Nurses of 2019" by the district government, as part of celebrating International Nurses Day on May 12 and expressing gratitude for their dedication to safeguarding the health and safety of ordinary people.
The event was livestreamed by Shanghai Jiading mobile app and attracted many viewers.
Lu Yefeng from the Jiading Central Hospital was nominated for her rigorous work and excellent skills. She was eager to share her experience and always tireless in teaching others. Lu said her motto was: "My patients will be comforted by my heartfelt care."
Zhang Xiaoyan from Nanxiang Hospital in Jiading, the owner of three patents, has not only put her heart and soul into her work but is also devoted to research. Years have faded her hair into white but not damped down her ambition.
Su Qin from the Jiading Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is an expert in nursing with TCM therapies. She has guided her team to explore the core of quality nursing and find innovative nursing methods. She has moved numerous patients with her care, patience, sincerity, kindness and warm heart.
Yang Junxia from Anting Hospital in Jiading has been dedicated to her work for 22 years. She was also a member of the medical team supporting Wuhan and did not hesitate to join the team to test people coming to Shanghai from countries that were heavily hit by COVID-19.
Dai Qiuhua from Jiading Mental Health Center is always concerned about the safety of more than 500 inpatients. She has worked for 30 years adhering to the idea of "the recognition of patients is the greatest affirmation of our work".
Song Jing from the maternal and childcare service center in Jiading is used to being on stand-by around the clock. If there were any emergencies, she was always the first to get back to her position, even on her days off. Song said she will always follow her heart in nursing and her spirit has guided many new nurses.
Yang Liying, head nurse at the operating room of the Ruijin Hospital Affiliated to Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine, has always placed nursing as her priority and insisted on cultivating professionals for operating rooms. She and her team had helped clinicians manage many difficult surgeries in Jiading.
