Covering an area of 14,000 square meters, the Han Tianheng Art Museum was reconstructed on the former site of Jiafeng Feilian Textile Factory and named after the renowned calligrapher, painter and stone engraver, who donated over 1,000 pieces of artistic works to the Jiading district government in 2011.
The building retains the original architectural structure, such as tall chimneys, serrated pattern of plants, and a tearoom with wooden roof, and is also spruced up by new features such as steel frames with sharp contrast of black and white, advanced display systems, and beautiful green and water sceneries.
It now boasts the dual function of museum and gallery as it has several separate areas for distinct purposes such as a regular exhibition hall, a temporary exhibition hall, a multi-functional conference hall, and an art teaching & research base. The museum integrates art exhibitions, art salons and academic seminars to promote and enhance services to meet the public's growing cultural needs.
