The first CT device donated by United Imaging, a medical products company based in Jiading, Shanghai, recently arrived at the Wuchang Fangcang makeshift hospital in Central China and is currently being installed, local media reported on Feb 11.
The advanced equipment, which boasts high precision in data generation, data acquisition and image reconstruction, can capture minute details of a patient's lungs in a minute's time and scan 300 patients per day.
"It's our duty to safeguard the lives and health of our people. We will offer dedicated solutions for the prevention and control of the epidemic, which include providing high-performance medical products, remote medical systems and artificial intelligence," said Xue Min, chairman of the company.
CT devices and related services worth 50 million yuan ($7.2 million) donated by United Imaging were on their way to Fangcang hospital. The company is also planning to donate another 50-million-yuan worth of CT devices and services to Henan province, another hard-hit area of the novel coronavirus pneumonia.
Over 100 imaging experts from the company are offering free online consultations to people all round China, helping them with initial assessments.
