A scaled model exhibition showing the rural and urban landscapes of Germany and Switzerland recently opened for a trial operation in Shanghai.
Jointly created by the government of Nanxing town of Shanghai's Jiading district and Shanghai Chuanxing Exhibition Co, everything is on a scale of 1:87.There are more than 50,000 figures,1,000 models of architecture in different styles and over 20,000 trees existing in this mini world, with some 100 trains running on the 2,000 meters of rail, which depicts scenes of real life in Germany and Switzerland.

Advanced digital control systems are also used to make sure the mini world runs faultlessly. Through the central server, the world is set to alternate day and night every half hour. When the night comes, over 20,000 LED lights are put into use.
According to Zhu Haijie, creator of the mini world, the world provides an immersive and all-round interactive experience for visitors, and is a leading art project in China which integrates scientific education and artistic creation.
The mini world, covering an area of more than 800 square meters, took nine months to complete after four years of preparation.
