The wisteria in Shanghai's Jiading Wisteria Park is now in full bloom.
The plant descends in waves, looking like a purple curtain, greeting visitors with its breathtaking beauty and floating scent.
The Jiading Wisteria Park, which opened to the public in 2000, was built to celebrate Jiading's friendly relations with Wake Town of Okayama Prefecture in Japan. The park, one of the only three wisteria parks in the world, combines the characteristics of both Chinese and Japanese gardens.
Covering over 10,000 square meters, it has 28 varieties of more than 100 wisteria trees. April and May is the best time to view wisteria as the flowers bloom in various shades of purple, white and pink.
