The Shanghai International Automobile City, located in Anting town, Jiading district, signed a cooperation deal with College of Transportation Engineering at Tongji University and College of Civil Engineering and Geosciences of Netherlands-based Delft University of Technology on Oct 16.
According to the deal, the three parties will work together in scientific technology, R & D, manufacturing, and marketing.
They will share information and resources regarding intelligent transportation, and strengthen exchanges among their auto professionals, in hope of promoting R & D, manufacturing and innovation of new energy, fuel-cell, and internet-connected vehicles.
It is also expected to promote cooperation of advanced Chinese and Dutch intelligent driving technologies, get more auto professionals exposed to the latest and cutting-edge internet-connected technology and automatic driving technology, and eventually make more contributions to the global development of smart vehicles.
Shanghai-based Tongji University is one of China's top-rated universities. Its College of Transportation Engineering has built two world-class test platforms featuring traffic safety simulation test and speedup and weight increase test on roads and airport pavements, making the college a key base in China for nurturing professionals and conducting scientific research in the transportation sector.
The Delft University of Technology is the oldest and largest science and engineering university in the Netherlands. It has many of the world's leading majors including aircraft engineering, traffic engineering, mechanical engineering, electronic engineering, hydraulic engineering, chemical engineering, and civil engineering.
