The current Shanghai Municipal Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, established in Jing'an district in 1954, has more than 70 traditional Chinese medicine experts.
The arrival of the Shanghai Municipal Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Jiading is in line with the district's goal of developing into a healthy city. It will greatly advance the development of Jiading's healthcare industry, particularly in the traditional Chinese medicine sector.
Jiading has a goal of becoming China's first international traditional Chinese medicine zone. It will concentrate on the construction of a health industrial park, two new hospitals, three medicine-focused bases, and four centers involving medicine R&D, testing, trading, and exhibitions in the next three years, so as to form a TCM-focused health industry development system.
