Shanghai's Jiading district launched a calligraphy, painting and literature exhibition on June 26 in celebration of the 108th anniversary of the birth of Lu Yanshao, a Jiading-born artist.
More than 50 works selected from Lu Yanshao Art Gallery, including water and mountain-themed paintings, calligraphy works, manuscripts and stationery accessories, are on display at the exhibition.
Eight pieces of furniture used by Lu are also being exhibited, and were donated by Lu's family and students.
During the opening ceremony, Lu Yanshao Art Gallery signed a cooperation deal with Shanghai Painting and Calligraphy Academy.
The exhibition is expected to increase the exposure of Lu's work and encourage more people to take an interest in traditional Chinese art. It will run until Oct 8.
In addition to the exhibition, Lu's work will also be exhibited at various schools in Jiading this September.
