Senior citizens in Jiading district of Shanghai will get better care after a new social welfare institute is completed, local media reported on May 8.
The new institute, located at Jiading's Xinchenglu Street, is a six-storey renovation project based on the building of the former Xincheng Nursing Home.
The project started construction last August and is slated to be completed this October.
The institute will cover a total floor area of 8,746 square meters and will have more than 200 beds.
Additionally, it will have a medical treatment station, a rehabilitation room of 200 square meters, entertainment halls, a barbershop, a dining hall, a fire-fighting room, and other facilities.
Seniors aged 60 and above who want to live in the institute can submit their applications from May 2 to 10.
