Taking up nearly 20 mu (1.3 hectares), the center is designed to be a base for the China National Academy of Painting. When it is completed, it will serve as a platform for painters, sculptors, artists specializing in different art forms, photographers, producers, musicians, and writers to exchange ideas.
The center is expected to boost the development of Jiangqiao's culture, sports and other industries and push forward the construction of a demonstration zone of the North Hongqiao Central Business District.
