Authorities from Nanxiang town, Jiading district of Shanghai recently announced that the town plans to build two new public schools to alleviate the difficulties of local kids getting enrolled in schools, local media reported on March 14.
The schools include a primary and a secondary one. The projects are expected to start construction from next year and to complete by 2018.
The primary school will cover an area of 27,500 square meters and is designed to set up 30 classes. The secondary will spread out on an area of 30,000 square meters and is slated to have 28 classes.
Local officials are working together on roads planning, land requisition and demolition, resident resettlement, resource allocation and others, to ensure the projects to begin earlier.
It is said that Nanxiang sets up a goal of establishing 16 new schools during the period of the 13th Five-Year Plan (2016-2020), to promote the balanced development of local compulsory education.
