Authorities of Jiading district, Shanghai, announced the opening of an Auto Innovation Park at Anting town in an inauguration ceremony, on Oct 27.
Significantly, an International Automobile City is also located at the town.

The innovation park, covering an area of 120,000 square meters, had an investment of 1.5 billion yuan ($236.1 million). It took three and a half years to complete construction of the park. It aims to attract companies in new energy vehicles, smart-connected cars and information technology by providing first-class facilities and favorable policies.
Companies situated here will also get the research resources from top universities and institutes such as Tongji University and Shanghai Motor Vehicle Inspection Center.
So far, some leading emerging enterprises in auto industry have already established their branches in the park including startup firm NextEV and a joint venture between SAIC Motor and Alibaba.
Local authorities said that they expect to facilitate the upgrading and transformation of traditional auto industry by integrating various high-tech companies and institutions in the park.
