A delegation of 70 members from the Hong Kong United Youth Association went to the Jiading district of Shanghai, on Oct 22-23, with the purpose of promoting economic and trade cooperation and exchanges between the two areas.
They visited the temple of Confucius, the local judicial center, a logistics center of jd.com (China's e-commerce giant) named "Asia No 1", China Stem Cell Group, Shanghai Volkswagen Automotive Co, and Shanghai Auto Museum, to gain a better understanding of Jiading's economy, culture and judicial reform.
After the tour, they attended a meeting with the district leaders to exchange ideas on cooperation. Gao Yun, head of the district, introduced Jiading's economy and social development and looked forward to more communication between the youth of the two areas. He also invited Hong Kong's young entrepreneurs to start businesses in Jiading.
Fan Junhua, head of the association, said that he hoped to bring some university students to Jiading next year, in a bid to learn the district's culture and history and further promote exchanges and communication between the students of the two areas.
