A flea market is expected to run regularly to facilitate residents in Shengxin community of Jiading Industrial Zone to exchange their second-hand items.
The flea market was organized by the community’s neighborhood committee. Families who wish to join in should first register through the community’s public WeChat account to reserve a position in the market.
Most of the second-hand items were from children: toys, dolls, books and others. And many children were vendors of their own second-hand goods. Their mothers chatted, exchanged items and communicated with their skills in raising kids.
Social workers from Shengxin neighborhood committee said the flea market aims to salvage waste items, raise people’s environmental awareness and improve intimacy among community residents.
