As the 2015 Formula One Chinese Grand Prix kicks off in the Shanghai International Circuit (SIC) from April 10 to 12, the 2015 Shanghai Auto Culture Festival raises the curtain at the same time with a rich variety of wonderful events.
Here are some must-go locations during this year's auto culture festival.
Shanghai for All Seasons • Jiading Theme Park
Pavilions from all parts of Jiading gather here. Besides a festive atmosphere and colorful interactive activities, this place serves as a window to understand all aspects of Jiading.

(1) Anting • Shanghai International Automobile City Pavilion
The Anting town will display its charm as the Shanghai International Automobile City by the chance of hosting the F1 Chinese Grand Prix.
In this pavilion, you can enjoy the antique car show, the promotion of EVcard, a rental service of electric vehicles, as well as the China Auto Salon Modified Car Show, which respectively represents the old, the new and the innovative. It shows the notion of integrating the new and old and keeping on innovation. You can experience the charming automobile culture by enjoying an exhibition of oil paintings and taking part in various activities.
(2) Watching Games • Touring Jiading – Jiading Tourism Resources Pavilion
During F1 Chinese Grand Prix, the Jiading Tourism Bureau will showcase the rich tourism resources in the district.
Have you ever tried viewing the district by holographic imaging?
Are you so familiar with the district that you can recognize its scenic sites through a photo?
Or are you fond of interesting games such as shooting darts and graffiti?
All these colorful events and abundant prizes have been prepared and are awaiting your participation.
(3) Old Town Flavor – 2015 Jiading Traditional Culture Pavilion
As an ancient town with a history of 800 years, Jiading enchants visitors with its lingering charm unique to the southern Yangtze River region.
In this pavilion, craftsmen were invited to demonstrate straw weaving, a traditional technique in Xuhang town which was listed as national intangible cultural heritage in 2008. You can also enjoy a lot of exquisite bamboo carving handcrafts. Woodcut handicrafts will be made on the spot and gifted to lucky audiences. Visitors can appreciate genuine traditional culture of Jiading by accessing a cloud platform named “Culture Jiading”, which boasts a variety of cultural resources, including 2 million digital books, 10,000 e-journals, 20,000 lectures and 20-odd databases.
(4) Shanghai International Circuit Tourist Attraction Pavilion
Tens of thousands of tourists are expected to join the gala and the Shanghai International Circuit has prepared exciting events to entertain them.
You might have heard of the vertical wind tunnel, where people can experience the feeling of flying by wearing specially designed flying costume and floating off the ground at the strong airflow produced by a giant air blower. In this pavilion, a professional tutor of the vertical wind tunnel will show you how to fly beautifully. What’s more, models of race horses and karting will be exhibited and you can experience golf swing at a small lawn.
(5) FM100.3 – Voice of F1
FM100.3, the Jiading People’s Radio will build a studio and broadcast live at Jiading Theme Park.
On April 12, the Race Day, FM100.3 will broadcast live events, meanwhile introduce traffic information and tourism resources of Jiading. Two famous F1 sportscasters, Zhang Haining and Pan Yongyong, will be invited to commentate on the race.
(6) The Wonderful Jiading New City
A variety of enterprises from Jiading New City will show their achievements in the promising new town, including the Shanghai Poly Theater, the Hanergy Holding Group Ltd., a multinational clean-energy power generation company and the world’s largest thin-film solar power company, the commercial complex Taipei Hot, as well as the CITIC Pacific Ltd.’s real estate project in Jiading New City.
(7) Stage Performance
The main stage will be a key area in Jiading Theme Park. Visitors can join in various activities on the stage and a short film on Jiading will be broadcast here. Passionate Rock&Roll and Chinese martial arts performances on the stage will bring the festive atmosphere to a climax. Auto fans will have chance to meet young racers of China Federation of Automobile Sports. Detailed information on the events will be released later.
