Perry Christie, prime minister of the Bahamas, and his group paid a visit to Jiading district of Shanghai on Jan 10 accompanied by Gao Yun, head of the district.
The group visited tourist attractions and companies to get to know the social and economic development of the district. The prime minister learned about the high-end medical equipment at Shanghai United-Imaging Medical Technology Co and praised its contributions to people's health.
Gao also painted a picture of the district's development in technology, tourism and the auto industry. The prime minister expressed his affection for the district after learning that Jiading boasts many historical scenic spots, celebrities and the only F1 circuit in the country.
The Bahamas is an island country in the Atlantic Ocean covering a territory of 259,000 square kilometers, southeast of the US state of Florida. It is one of the richest countries in the Caribbean area, with GDP per capita trailing the US and Canada.
