Shanghai United-Imaging Medical Technology Co, a high-end medical equipment producer in the Jiading Industrial Zone of Shanghai, recently donated equipment worth 2.1 million yuan ($341,000) to the quake-hit region in Yunnan.
The donated equipment is made up of the company’s high-end digital radiography products, which can conduct a scan and diagnose patients in a short time.
The company also sent its staff to Yunnan, to undertake the preparatory work before the equipment arrives and provide technical support for the operation.
A 6.5-magnitude earthquake struck Ludian County in Yunnan province on August 3, and caused the deaths of 617 people with a further 112 reported missing, as of August 11.
