Jiading will hold an opening ceremony for the 14th Shanghai Malu Grape Festival on July 5, according to a report in the local news press.
The festival, themed, “Taste Malu grape, visit beautiful country,” will run for nearly three months and end in early October. The festival will provide an opportunity for visitors to enjoy the premium grapes and beautiful rural scenery.
Activities, such as blind date party on Chinese Valentine’s Day, lectures on wine and night tours of the vineyard park will also be held during the festival.
In addition, an exhibition and seminar on early-maturing grape species of the Yangtze River Delta will be held at the opening ceremony, which aims to recommend premium grape species to visitors and introduce new species and planting technology to farmers.
Apart from the grape festival, more efforts are being made to promote the brand image of Malu grape. The local government has customized a uniform packaging for the grapes this year. The “Malu Grape” label as a trademark on the boxes is a registered brand approved by the State Administration for Industry and Commerce.
The Malu grape also has a WeChat account and official website, which plays an important role in market promotion.
