The Shanghai Poly Grand Theatre (SHPGT), another cultural landmark of Shanghai, will open to the public at the end of September, according to Eastday.com.
Located in Jiading New City, the kaleidoscope-shaped theater is designed by the well-known Japanese architect Tadao Ando, who is famous for his simplistic design style.
The facades are decorated with round and hearted-shaped caves, hiding a slew of passageways to the stage, according to the project contractor.
Apart from the geometric elements, the architect also brings natural landscapes to the theater, creating a harmonious space combined with nature, art and culture.
The theater will officially open to the public on Sept 30, with the average ticket price under 260 yuan ($41.60), a staffer from the theater said. The theater will also offer student tickets and low-priced tickets.
