The Jiading administration of culture, radio, film and TV and Shanghai Consultant Center of Quality Certification (SCCQC) signed an agreement to launch an ISO9001 quality management system certification project for the public culture of Jiading, according to China Culture Daily.
The project will be piloted at the Jiading library and cultural and sports center of Jiading subdistrict. According to Dang Xuemei, program leader at SCCQC, the center will work out a quality management manual based on a service and satisfaction survey of the two pilot participants and help them pass the ISO9001 certification in a year. The project will be promoted at all public cultural service institutions if the pilot projects prove successful.
Jiading has high standard public cultural facilities since the district library, museum, new cultural center and activity centers in towns and subdistricts opened to the public. It is important to take advantage of the facilities and make them serve local residents, said Yao Qiang, deputy director of the district administration of culture, radio, film and TV. The ISO9001 system will not only play an important role in the development of public cultural services, but is also necessary for cultural departments to improve their work.
ISO9001 is an international standard of quality management system, with the certificates mostly issued to manufacturing enterprises.
