Representatives of the Taiwan Fund for Children and Families, and the Eden Social Welfare Foundation were in the Jiading district of Shanghai, recently to get a look at its social organizations, social worker situation and projects and to talk with local social workers.
Li Zheng, deputy head of the district, gave a description of their work and took the delegates to a cultural entrepreneur base and a social organization park for helping the disabled, where they got a detailed explanation of the social work. They also described their own work in rehabilitation for the disabled, early intervention services for handicapped children, and foundation financing.
At Jiading’s Disabled Person Federation, they learned of its social operation efforts for the disabled and expressed a desire to communication and cooperate further. As services for the disabled mature, such exchanges with Taiwan are more frequent and fruitful and will increase understanding and communications between the two parties.
