Shanghai officials inspect Jiading's development

Li Xi, deputy secretary of the Shanghai Municipal CPC Committee, visited Jiading district on Oct 17 for an inspection of its social and economic development. He was accompanied by Ma Chunlei, secretary of the Jiading district CPC committee.

Li visited the Jiading New Town Planning Center, the new Jiading Library, and other projects in order to increase his understanding of the district's development. He said he had noted Jiading's progress in various fields and urged the district to continue its work concerning economic transformation, social development, and the living standards of local residents.

The deputy secretary also gave suggestions concerning the local government's work on population management, saying that – similar to any metropolis in China - it is a key element for social stability and development. He also said that Jiading should try to gain experience with the assistance of a new personnel system.

Liu Weiguo, deputy secretary general of the Shanghai Municipal CPC Committee, and Feng Xiaomin, vice director of the Organization Department of the municipal CPC committee, also accompanied the delegation.
