Shanghai Baosteel & Arcelor Tailor Metal Ltd

The company, located in the auto parts industrial park of the Shanghai Auto City, was jointly established by Baosteel International, Shanghai Volkswagen United Development Ltd and Arcelor Tailor Metal Ltd. It produces laser-tailored metal products for automakers, and its product line includes straight line tailoring, broken line tailoring and curved line tailoring. It also provides decoiling and planking services.

The company boasts Arcelor laser metal-tailoring technology, world-rate Muller Weingarten decoiling and planking equipment, Soudronic laser-tailoring equipment and modern information management technology. It can provide customers with traceable products of superb quality and with a long and stable supply-chain service.

The first phase involves a total investment of 350 million yuan, of which fixed assets and intangible assets total 220 million yuan and working capital totals 130 million yuan. The registered capital is 121.5 million yuan, of which 38 percent is controlled by Baosteel International, 37 percent by Volkswagen United and 25 percent by Arcelor. The first phase also involves the purchase of 4.93 hectares of land, a decoiling line, two laser-tailoring lines, plant buildings and auxiliary equipment.

Baosteel & Arcelor focuses on the development of the laser-tailoring industry and plans to achieve 10-million-piece production capacity in the next few years. The company will work together with its customers in creating a bright future in the spirit of excellence, trust, openness and innovation.
