Located beside the Yantie River in Waigang town, it was constructed in the 10th year of the Tianjian reign of the Liang of the Southern Dynasty (511). When it was constructed, it occupied a land area of 0.67 hectares and was divided into the eastern and western compounds, named Chongfu and Yongde, respectively.
In the center of the temple, there were more than 100 rooms and halls, including the Mahavira Hall, the Goddess of Mercy Hall and the Wenchang Hall. In 1994, the front gate and the Heavenly King Hall were reconstructed.
In May 1995, Wuxing Temple, after renovation, opened to visitors and believers again. It has become a famous temple in South China since then.
The words of Wuxing Temple's name, written by Zhao Puchu, are elegant and powerful, addressing elements of attraction to this ancient temple.
