Jereh Group, Yantai–based equipment manufacturer in East China's Shandong province, is being placed on center stage by China's Central Television 2 (CCTV2) for its independently-developed turbine fracturing truck.
A eight-episode documentary The Pillars of a Great Power, which over more than one and a half years, premiered Feb 26 on China Central Television and is airing through March 5 to showcase the great strides China has made in the equipment manufacturing industry.
The fourth episode sheds light on Jereh Group's story of shale gas extraction with the help of high-end equipment.
Shale gas is a clean energy source that is being developed all over the world. China has the largest proven reserves of shale gas globally, but its exploitation is in great difficult.
The 'Apollo I' turbine fracturing truck of Jereh Group doubles the efficiency of shale gas extraction, which makes China to be the third country that has advanced turbine fracturing equipment after the United States and Russia.
Jereh Group provides integrated solutions for the oil and gas drilling industry. By supplying more than 600 sets of large-scale oilfield equipment and four series of related products, Jereh has become the world's largest manufacturer of oilfield production equipment.
According to Wang Feng, vice-president of Jereh Group, the company pays a lot of attention to innovation, and puts no less than 5 percent of its sales revenue into research and development each year.
"From accessories traders to high-end equipment manufacturers, and then to integrated solutions providers, Jereh Group's rapid development is inseparable from the breakthroughs in the field of equipment manufacturing."
