The Yantai government and Sina Comic, a subsidiary of China's online media company Sina, signed a strategic cooperation agreement on April 12 in Beijing in a bid to boost bilateral cooperation between industries of cultural creativity and animation.

According to the agreement, Sina Comic will establish its regional base in the Yantai Hi-Tech Industrial Development Zone. It will also work with Yantai Vocational College to carry out education and training projects.

Xu Shaoning, director of the Yantai publicity department, took part in the signing ceremony.

Xu briefed the group on the economic and social development of Yantai in recent years as well as the overall development of the city's cultural creativity and animation industries.

Xu said that highlighting the culture industry is considered an important task in adjusting Yantai's economic structure and shifting its growth model.

Xu added that Sina Comic is a front-runner of China's network animation business. Its Yantai base will help to promote the city's animation industry. Yantai for its part will strive to provide a favorable environment for the development of cultural companies by improving related policies and measures.
