Bo Hai Zuan Zhu, a roll on/roll off (RORO) passenger ferry based in Bohai Bay, Shandong province, succeeded in freighting oil refining equipment 74 meters long, hitting both shipping records for the longest length and the highest freight costs for one vehicle, on Aug 21.

With an investment of 400 million yuan ($60.18 million), the ferry is mainly for the Yantai to Dalian route, and made its maiden journey in January 2015. It has the largest tonnage, the biggest passenger capacity, and largest vehicle carrying capacity of its kind in China. It allows a maximum of 1,800 passengers and over 300 vehicles onboard.
