Recently, Shandong province published its fourth provincial intangible cultural heritage (ICH) list, including 58 as representative projects and 59 as the supplementary projects.
Eight projects from Yantai were included on the list this time. They are the Liuhuangding temple fair, Penglai Pavilion temple fair, Yantai woolen embroidery, the production techniques of Zhongya treasured three animal pens pill, and the production techniques of Mingtong Wanying plaster, mantis boxing, Yantai-style paper-cutting, and Jiaodong-style steamed buns.
Currently, Yantai has 38 provincial ICH projects, taking the lead in Shandong province.
It is the 10th year that Yantai has been involved in ICH protection work, carrying out protection plans, perfecting ICH files, establishing databases, putting efforts into education, launching promotion activities, and studying theoretical research.
In the future, Yantai will keep protecting ICH projects with the theme of "protection is lord, rescue the first, reasonable exploitation and development in inheritance".
