Penglai rolls out special offers for Dragon Boat Festival

From offering ticket discounts to organizing activities, Penglai, a county-level city in Yantai, Shandong province, is gearing up for the annual Dragon Boat Festival that falls on June 20-22 this year.
Penglai Pavilion
The Penglai Pavilion and other three buildings, namely the Tengwang Pavilion in Nanchang of Jiangxi province, the Yellow Crane Tower (Huanghe Lou) in Wuhan of Hubei province, and the Yueyang Pavilion in Hunan province, are renowned as four most notable pavilions in China.
During the three-day holiday, the scenic spot will present Lu opera (one of China's eight major opera genres) and art performances. The first 100 visitors will be gifted with free boiled eggs and zongzi (a pyramid-shaped dumpling made of glutinous rice and wrapped in bamboo or reed leaves), as well as half-priced tickets for horse-riding and archery spots. Besides, the wine exhibition area will offer free wine produced in Penglai to taste.

Chateau Junding
Junding boasts an 8,000-square-meter underground wine cellar, the largest in Asia. During the festival, the ticket price will be reduced from 60 yuan ($9.79) per person to 15 yuan ($2.43) per person.

Former Residence of Qi Jiguang
Qi Jiguang is a war-time hero known for his resistance against Japanese aggression. His former residence features architectures of Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) style.
During the holiday, local residents will be able to apply for annual passes with ID cards. Each pass will cost 30 yuan. Visitors from other cities can enjoy 20-percent-discounted tickets. All the tourists can get a free scent bag each or lucky belt to hang it the 400-year-old ginkgo tree in the spot for blessing.
