Asia's largest ro-ro passenger ship sets sail in Yantai

The largest and the most luxurious roll-on/roll-off (ro-ro) ship in Asia, "Bohai Ma Zhu", made its maiden voyage from Yantai to Dalian on April 2 with more than 800 passengers and 150 vehicles on board.
The ship was built by Shandong Bohai Ferry Co with an investment of 400 million yuan ($65.41 million). It is 178.8m long and 28m wide with the gross tonnage of 35,000 tons. It features a 2500m driveway and a 3-storey vehicle hold. It is able to hold more than 300 cars and 2300 passengers and has the top carrying capacity in Asia.
The ship is equipped with a string of world advanced systems including navigation, communication, satellite positioning and fire-fighting facilities.
Also on board are six luxury suites, 11 first class cabins and 116 second class cabins, all of which are equipped with sightseeing balconies to offer travelers an enjoyable journey.
The ship is the 10th vessel produced by Shandong Bohai Ferry Co, a company striving to become a shipping giant within five years.
