To better mature wines and give them a special aroma, the chateau keeps a constant temperature from 12 C to 16 C and humidity between 75 and 85 percent. In addition, it adopts the same winemaking process as French chateaus.

The Changyu chateau is 27 kilometers away from the airport and 21 kilometers away from the railway and coach stations.

Visitors can take Bus 21 and 28 to get there. A taxi will cost about 55 yuan ($8.96) from the railway station to Changyu.
