2. Qixia Taixu Palace
Taixu Palace in Qixia, a county-level city in Yantai, East China's Shandong province, was initially built in 1191 and has a history of more than 800 years. It is one of the country's temples that feature renowned Taoist architecture.
Every year a festival called Yanjiu is held during the Spring Festival in Qixia in memory of Qiu Chuji, a famed Taoist guru. A temple fair, folk performances of Chinese shadow puppetry, Peking Opera and Lyv Opera, ceremonies to pray for good fortune, a parade of cartoon dolls and guessing lantern riddles will be staged for visitors to enjoy.
