Yantai to launch 700 activities for Chinese New Year celebrations

More than 700 cultural and tourism-focused activities will take place in Yantai, a coastal city in East China's Shandong province to celebrate the Chinese New Year.
Among these, 630 items will be cultural activities featuring folk performances, a New Year gala, temple fairs for intangible cultural heritages, painting exhibitions, dance performances and lantern shows, all of which will be available to the general public from late January to the end of February.
Tourism companies and agencies from local counties also launched 66 tourism-focused activities focusing on skiing, hot springs, parent-child picking, temple fairs and a New Year bazaar, offering local residents a festive feast of fun.
One of the highlights during this year's program will be a combination of Chinese cultural and tourism resources.
This year will be more convenient than ever for anybody who wants to attend the activities for the Chinese New Year, thanks to the availability of travelling plans of routes to and from the venues and preferential policies including discounts on some tickets, according to the Yantai municipal tourism and cultural bureau.
These festive activities, themed around Chinese New Year and Lantern Festival, aims to showcase colorful Chinese traditional and folk culture to further the development of the local tourism industry.
