Circus dazzles tourists during Qingdao Intl Beer Festival
With excited screams and laughter from the audience, the Global City International Great Circus performed at the Golden Beach Beer City on Aug 10 in Qingdao, Shandong province.
As one of the three themed activities during the 2018 Phoenix Sound International Music Season, the circus show debuted on July 20 at the Golden Beach Beer city and will last through Aug 26.
The 3000-square-meter circus shed is the first in China to be imported from Italy. It can accommodate more than 1500 audience members at a time. Though the circus is a fixed event of the German Munich Beer Festival, it is the first time that it has been part of the Qingdao International Beer Festival, according to Ma Rong, manager of the Sound of the Phoenix Grand Theater.
The Global City International Great Circus has been designed by the director of Guangzhou Changlong International Great Circus for the beer festival. More than 60 shows are being performed throughout the festival, with shows every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at 7 pm, and on every Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 2 pm, 4 pm and 7 pm. Each show lasts no less than 70 minutes. The shows are being performed by acrobats from nearly ten countries, and it has attracted praise from locals and tourists alike.
Besides purchasing tickets on the spot, tickets can also be booked online. Ticket prices are set between 80 ($11.62) to 280 yuan, including a family ticket which costs 180 yuan.
