Exhibition celebrates 30 years of Shandong's art academy
An art exhibition got underway at Shandong Art Museum on Nov 19, celebrating 30 years since the establishment of the province's art academy.
The Shandong Art Academy (SDAA) was established in 1986 to create new works or art as a well as preserve and research historical pieces.
Running until Nov 30, the exhibition will display some 100 painting and calligraphy works from former and current members of the SDAA, including its presidents, art consultants, members of its arts council, and signed-up painters.
Jointly organized by the Shandong Provincial Department of Culture and the SDAA, the exhibition puts to the fore the academic success and fruitful creations of the SDAA over the past three decades.
A large number of historical materials such as pictures, photographs and films will also be exhibited to show the SDAA's development over the years.
Approved by the Shandong provincial government, the SDAA was established in August 1986 with initial three departments of administration, creating and research. Calligraphy academy and art academy for youth were added in 2015, making SDAA the provincial center for artistic creating, research, education and communication.
