The opening ceremony of the College of Literature and Journalism of Ludong University, jointly sponsored by Ludong University and the Yantai publicity department, was held on Nov 4 in Yantai, Shandong province.

Xu Shaoning, director of the Yantai publicity department, said at the opening ceremony that the college is an important measure to implement the media talent education and training program launched by the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee and the Ministry of Education.

He added that the two parties should learn from other universities' successful practices. The Yantai publicity department and Ludong University should play to their strengths to cultivate more talent in the field of new media, in a bid to promote the sustainable and healthy development of journalism in Yantai.
