7th World Confucian Conference to open in September
The World Confucian Conference is set to open at the Chinese Confucius Research Institute in Qufu city on September 27.
Qufu, in East China’s Shandong province, is known as the birthplace and hometown of Confucius.
The theme of this year’s conference session is “Confucianism and its contemporary value”. The sub-themes are “the philosophical mission of Confucianism in modern era”, “Confucianism and the national soft power”, “rites culture and moralities” and “Confucianism and the public culture”.
Event organizers have begun inviting representatives to attend and collecting research papers relevant to the theme and topics of the conference.
The conference is an international Confucian event engaged in creating a platform for Confucian research, exchange and cooperation. It is sponsored by Ministry of Culture of the People’s Republic of China and the provincial government of Shangdong.
