Shandong to invest 13.5m yuan on heritage preservation
East China’s Shandong province plans to invest 13.5 million yuan ($2.17 million) for intangible cultural heritage preservation in 2015, according to the province’s finance bureau.
Among the investments, 7.74 million yuan will be provided to preserve important projects, including the third batch of provincial intangible cultural heritage items, historical, cultural and scientific Shandong-featured projects and endangered cultural relics
The fund for inheritance and promotion activities will take 2.89 million yuan. It will be used to celebrate the 10th Cultural Heritage Day, train heritage professionals and evaluate the fourth batch of provincial intangible cultural heritage and relevant preservation rules adoption.
About 1.87 million yuan will be invested in helping folk artists to train apprentices, and 1 million yuan for pilot zones in cultural and ecological preservation.
