Shandong Art Museum, established in July 1977, is an affiliated nonprofit cultural institution under the Shandong provincial cultural department. It is engaged in collections of modern and contemporary art, academic research, exhibition, aesthetic education and foreign exchanges.
The art museum started its construction on January 11, 2012, and officially opened to public on Oct 12, 2013.
The museum, with an investment of 600 million yuan ($96.66 million), has a combined floor area of 31.05 mu (20,700 square meters) and a construction area of 52,000 square meters. It has five stories and 12 exhibition halls.
The museum hosted the 10th China Art Festival in October, 2013 and was well-received by the public. More than 310,000 audiences participated in the festival.

Opening Hours:
From Tuesday to Sunday: 9:00 am – 5:00 pm (no entry after 4:00 pm)
Monday closed (except for national holidays)
Local residents can visit the museum for free with their identity cards and students’ identity card.
Bus Route: No 115, 119, 152, 504, BRT 5, K139 and K160, get off at the Provincial Museum Station.
