A total of 41 cultural projects from Shandong province recently made it onto a list of recipients of a special national fund. With 23 key projects included, the province is leading the way in China in terms of the number of projects funded on a national level, according to the cultural assets supervision and administration office of the Ministry of Finance.

Companies including Shandong Huayi Sculpture Art Co Ltd, Dazhong News Group and Shandong Cable TV will receive financial support for their projects.

According to the list, the Ministry of Finance will finance 834 cultural projects (pilot bookstore projects excluded), and 478 key projects and 356 ordinary projects in 2015.

Shandong is one of the 16 provinces that will receive support in the brick-and-mortar bookstore project.

An official from the Shandong cultural industry reform office said that the government will make efforts to support all kinds of cultural projects with fiscal funds, but the capital is limited and marketization will be the main force for the development of cultural industries.
