The first fast food inspection vehicle has been put into service in Yantai, Shandong province, shm.com.cn reported on Jan 19.

The vehicle, as a movable lab is equipped with multiple testing machines that enable it to detect more than 1oo food items in few minutes including food adulteration, heavy medal, prohibited pesticide and additive, and foodborne pathogens.

Officials say that the vehicle features efficiency, easy operation, low cost as well as movability. It will also help Yantai's food and drug administration authority better improve food safety.

The vehicle will move around the city's agricultural trade markets, supermarkets and school canteens to ensure food security.
