Tian Pengfei, founder of the charitable organization "Qingdao Voluntary Road Rescue Team", and another nine people were awarded the honor of 2015's "People Moving Shandong", on Jan 15.

In May 2014, Tian, 31, quit his job as a reporter to register a non-profit organization dedicated to providing roadside assistance and services as well as promoting civilized and safe driving in the city.
His enthusiasm for the project won the support of many including local government, the traffic division of the police department and Qingdao Red Cross.
Meanwhile, the project attracted hundreds of drivers to sign up and become members of the organization's professional rescue team.

Tian and his team have carried out numerous charitable deeds, such as towing and repairing vehicles and even helping to put out vehicle fires.
To date, the organization has completed 624 missions, including 500 vehicle rescues, 23 first aid assistances and 14 firefighting rescues.
The campaign "People Moving Shandong" is organized by the Shandong Internet and Information Office and xinhuanet.com. The campaign has received more than 1 million internet votes since it started last November. The award praises common people from all walks of life, who do good deeds for social progress.
