The Yangcheng District of Qingdao, Shandong province has attracted investment funds totaling 3.3 billion yuan ($500m) for its 14 service industry projects from January to November, 2015.

As of now, six projects are under construction, of which the Yuexing Furnishings Global Mall is partly operational. Another eight projects are accelerating the pace of their preparation work.

The Yangcheng District is vigorously promoting its service industry to improve residents' lives. It is also building an important commercial center in north Qingdao. The district now has 2 commercial complexes, 9 shopping malls over 10,000 square meters and 23 standard farmers' markets. It is developing its e-commerce industry by bringing in 4 e-commerce platforms.

"We have developed our distinctive leading industries like cultural innovation, modern logistics, e-commerce and leisure tourism," said one district official, adding "the next step is to further improve our modern service industry system by offering more policy supports and optimizing industrial structures."
