The fourth plenary session of the 12th Qingdao Chinese People's Political Consultative Congress (CPPCC) started at the city's Badaguan Hotel on Feb 12.

The CPPCC Qingdao committee members will address at the four-day meeting to put forward their proposals on the city's economic development, ecology and well-being of its residents.

This year, the public can also participate in the meeting to voice their opinions. They are mainly selected from the city's democratic parties, federation of industry and commerce, and non-party representatives.

In keeping with central government’s orders, the committee is offering a pared-down service this year. Printed materials, such as the Government Work Report, will not be available at the meeting and all reference information will be available on the CPPCC's website.
