The 28th Mount Tai International Mountaineering Festival officially began on Sept 6, with 3072 athletes from 19 countries taking part in the 19th Mount Tai National Fitness Competition & International Invitational Tournament.

Themed “Happiness in Taian”, the festival upheld the principles of frugality, sharing, and practice.

It is aimed at building the brand of Mount Tai international mountaineering, publicizing Taian’s tourism, and broadening areas of international economic cooperation, to enrich people’s lives.

The number of participants this year has broken a new record, with 3,073 domestic participants and 422 from abroad. The international group will give an award of 20,000 yuan to the winner, and the domestic group’s award will be 40,000 yuan. Additionally, the organizing committee will give an award of 950,000 yuan.
