The Silk Road Civilization of Ancient Xinjiang, a cultural relic exhibition, opened at Qingdao Municipal Museum on July 26.
There will be 189 cultural relics on display, most of which were unearthed in Xinjiang autonomous region in Northwest China. The exhibition consists of three parts covering the development of Silk Road and will continue from July 26 to Sept 15.
Visitors can appreciate various "Level I" artifacts, such as brocades, painted murals, gold vessels and Buddhist scrolls.
The famous ancient Silk Road, which served as a corridor for trade and cultural exchanges between Asia and Europe dating back 2,000 years, was inscribed on the World Heritage list in Doha, capital of Qatar, on June 22, 2014.
